The CMS software is required for central monitoring of a combination of automated spectrum monitoring and location systems. Each of the individual monitoring systems can be controlled from a central position and monitoring tasks can be scheduled centrally. The data is accessible and can be used for real time direction finding. This can be performed with a combination of different measurement systems. Direction finding can also be done as post processing where the signals were detected from different spots or locations at different times.

All the monitoring systems are connected via a mobile network to the CMS.
